Awesome! I'm glad you were able to figure it out. It would really help the community if you could provide exactly what the fixes are with pictures. In my opinion, you'll still generate business because some people wouldn't want to tackle the job but you'll be helping the community even more.

So you have or have not pulled the screen from the reservoir?

Noticed this thread got bumped. The screen is part of the reservoir assembly and it cannot simply be replaced. I eventually ended up pulling the screen out and placing an inline filter on the low pressure hose. I haven't had any power steering issues since.

What valve cover gaskets did you use? I replaced mine with ebay gaskets and they leaked. Replaced the ebay gaskets with Felpro and all is good for a about a year now.

Why couldn't you have removed the steering wheel and put it back on straight?

My front drain plug was siezed and stripped. I had to weld a bolt to the drain plug to remove it.

I replaced that piece when I replaced the steering rack a few months ago. You will have to find a way to separate the two steering linkages either by unbolting and moving the steering rack a couple of inches or pulling the steering column a couple of inches through the dash (if possible).

Last night I once again vacuumed the filter screen but instead of leaving it in place, I punched holes through it. Problem solved. Pump is quiet and power steering works great. I'm guessing the screen wasn't allowing the fluid to flow until the fluid was warmed up. I refilled with the same...

Update: I replaced the rack, power steering pump, PS pressure hose. I bled the system and the power steering worked GREAT! I let the truck sit overnight and started it in the morning. The PS pump whines and after a while of driving around, I have no power steering. I'm at a complete loss...

I used the original gasket for the pressure line. I'll get new gaskets today and tighten it back down.
