Diff drop?
Back in my 3rd gen days we all did Diff drops to get the cv angles better, I say keep the bigger lift and do that. It's a cheap way to get it better.
Obvious a truck from the south will have no rust, but don't toss out looking up here either. Proper maintenance will leave you will little rust. Mine has almost none almost 10yrs later.
We just have more to do during and after winters that those "warm" people. ��
I hope you have this figured out by now, but you moved the steering wheel back and forth to ensure the steering wheel lock was not holding the key right?
Well I guess for those that live in very remote locations, this might be a concern. But a lot of us live in metro areas where it's not really a concern. Just pay for roadside with your car insurance and you can get it home or to a shop for no cost.
I replaced all my motors, in every door. Drivers side door twice. I will be honest there was a learning curve on the doors with key locks. The rears are easier to do. But worst case is an Amazon overnight order if you crack the housing. Even the drivers door which I broke the case I was able to...

You missed the best part of the T&H bars, they have four frame mounting points unlike most bars they really can take a hit. I have the high bar and I promise you I have seen people dent their bumper on it and it didn't even flinch.
