5th Gen Spark Plugs- Photo Tutorial. So easy a 6 yr old girl can do it...

Thanks again to Antman and renau001 for the tutorial. 2013 SR5 @ 125k. When I pulled the old plugs, the passenger side plug threads had just the standard light crud on them, but driver side had oil on the threads. Worth any significant concern? No noticeable engine issues.

What to do when you have stripped skid plate bolts.

Question: When you put on that RCI skid, did it go on with six bolts or four? It replaces the plastic valence/air dam in the front, right? So there are two bolts up there as well? I think that's right, but just want to confirm before I pull the trigger. Edit: Yes, I know, I can also...

What to do when you have stripped skid plate bolts.

So the RCI uses different mount points than the OEM skid? I was just looking at the instruction PDF that was linked on the product page, and it makes it seem like it uses the same mount points. EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like you were talking about a 4th gen, per your signature line. I ask because...

    Looking for new skid bolts

Bumping this. Changed the oil myself for the first time at 70k since I now have a garage for the first time in years. I had the joy of discovering which bolts the dealership had lost over the years and also broke one of those little valance bolts myself. [emoji35] So, what are they...? Sent...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Put new Cooper ATWs in 265/70/17E on my 2013 SR5 two weeks ago. Ordered a set of RUD 4x4 chains that should be delivered today. Ordered a Smittybilt receiver shackle, hitch pin, 30'x3" 30,000 recovery strap, an extra shackle, and a jump box/USB charger. Should be here on Monday. We better...

    P255/75R-17 on 5th gen

I just put a set on my 2013 SR5 in 265/70/17. Unfortunately there's no C-rated version yet (contra BFG KO2s). Happy with them so far. Quiet on road. Plan on lots of use in the Northern Sierra this winter.

    KO2 vs Big O Bigfoot

OP, if I was you, I'd be choosing between the KO2 and Cooper ATw for snow traction purposes. Load rating should be based on your intended use, but those are tops among AT tires for winter use in latest reviews. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHePafFRBNc Here's a good comparison thread on...

2013+ model Rooftop Cargo Carriers and 5th Gen

I'm calling BS on the Skybox 21 fitting on the factory bars without hitting the spoiler--unless the mounting tracks that the claws slide on are farther back than the 18, which is certainly possible. I had a Skybox 18 on my 2013 SR5 on Friday and it wasn't even close to clearing the spoiler using...

    Lift gate speaker out

Party mode enables the lift speakers, depending on which OEM radio you have. On my SR5 (no Entune) the lift speakers do not fire unless I turn on party mode. Search. There are threads on this.

    4runner TRD Pro

So, I don't think I've seen this anywhere else, but can somebody clarify whether this thing is based off the SR5 or the Trail? This article suggests it'll be available in all trim levels: Toyota TRD Pro Series Introduced for Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner But that doesn't seem right to me for various...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Thule and Yakima are comparably priced. If anything, Thule is more expensive. They're of similar quality as well. Individual racks themselves may vary by model in terms of design weaknesses, but it has nothing to do with the brand. I worked at REI for four years and they were returned at the...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Got the truck out in the snow for the first time this weekend... Funny rallying down an unplowed section of Old 40 on Saturday, and unplowed Sierra Foothills backroads on Friday evening (because I-80 was a junkshow). Not so fun catching the first rock hits on Sunday and growing the first...
