After pulling the hatch apart 5+ times in the last 48 hours, I'm sure you can build something, but you'll have to work around the glass. Fixed the issue. I pulled it apart again tonight, and I found that when you grabbed the handle, it wouldn't return all the way closed, to the unlock mechanism was being blocked. There's a spring that connects the cable release mechanism, and the door handle, to return it to it's original...

I've tried variations of putting pressure on the door, but nothing worked. When I had it all apart, nothing was interfering with the handle itself, or the bar it moves. As for lubing it up, I don't think it would have any a difference, as it almost moves too far. I'm going to tear into it again...
