That looks a lot like the plate I had to remove to get to the grease fitting on one of the u-joints last week. Possibly the one on the t-case end of the front drive shaft.

Skybox 12 here I run a Yakima skybox 12 on Thule square crossbars. I think if I tried to use the stock crossbars the clamping system might contact my roof. Winter is here and I swapped over to my snow tires so k can't really say if it's had much effect o mileage.
