X2! The V8 is one of the smoothest, torquiest, V8 I've ever driven...period.

I've used M1 in almost every car/truck I have had...from brand new to switching at 75k+ miles. Not ever, knock on wood, have I had a problem with it. I change it every tire rotation, about 5-7k miles and the oil always looks fresh..."Just Do It"...you won't regret it...

Yeah, unfortunately, the "gas cap" shuffle has been going on for years and shows no sign of letting up. I think you've gotten some good advice here. Be sure to check here first for any problems or concerns. Chances are that one of us has been through it before...

I am looking to upgrade my "upgraded" JBL system. I'd like to put in a nice touchscreen, GPS, cd, sat. radio, web connectivity, etc. Anybody know the "best" unit for the job? I have looked at Crutchfield and they seemed to have a fair selection, but which one does anyone here have experience...

I agree X3...I've got a BMW for "fun" driving...the 'Runner is just for daily and off-road.

Please let us know how the test drive goes...I'd be curious. Also, for my needs, driving style, I'm not so sure I'd be taking a 470 off-road much without a few mods...it'll be sweet, I'm sure.

LOL, that's cool. To each his own. I'd just much rather have a V8 Runner, especially off road. But, yes, I'm probably in the minority. Oh, and the mpg's on the 'Cruiser are truly horrible, overall the V8 'Runners are better overall. For me...sorry to be off-thread, btw. :thanks:

Have you actually driven a brand new, 2010/11 Land Cruiser? I have. It has become a bloated, rich man's commuter status symbol "truck". I'd take a 'Runner over one any day. Possibly a 460 and modify it...IMHO.

V8 MPG's Fyi, with my V8 '03 'Runner, I average about 18/19 mpg's in mixed driving, 21+ on the highway. That's pretty much loaded or not...good luck!
