How hard is it to swap AT for manual

Will ECU out of 86 Auto work in 86 manual? I am hoping that I dont have to switch the ECU just because I am switching the tranny to manual. anybody know about that?

How hard is it to swap AT for manual

I got a 86 toyota 4runner and the tranny just went out. I was wondering if it is hard to swap it with a standard, Would I need to make new mounts, what about the transfer case? what all would I have to swap, tried looking for a thread about this but idk Im new so I guess maybe I suck at searching.

AT High2/4x4 does not work low 4x4 works?

Bummer Did you even find out what it was that your burned up? is it the bearings? I am just wondering if I should just tear out the tranny and start rebuilding it or if there is a possibility that its just a shift solenoid (idk where or what that is though.) Is there a way to test a few things...

    Rattling sound only when accelerating

Have you checked your U-joints? I had a similar problem in my Toyota 86, I believe it was around the time I removed a 3" lift kit and went back to stock height. I had the problem go away and come back for about 5 months before I finally found out it was my Rear U-joint that would squeak...

AT High2/4x4 does not work low 4x4 works?

Also One other thing (probably unrelated) that has happened is I tore out the A/C radiator, the cruise control box under the hood?(could messing with cruise control effect the transmission?), and some electrical cords that did not connect to anything at one end(I assume the previous owners mess.)

    Who is running 15" rims?

Depends on what your utilizing it for I can't say I know too much about the topic but I rock 15" rims that are also wider than usual (I think its 10" wide but could be 12"). puts more tread on the road. I have had no trouble interchanging them with tires seasonally, I occasionally rock tsl...
