    Stacking spacers on Icon Coilovers

If you have the Icon's at the highest setting you should be at about 3" of lift. If you went any higher you could possibly run into problems with the CV angles. I don't have any direct experience, so if anyone is more knowledgeable they should chime in.

    Alignment Issues

They didn't give me a printout of the alignment numbers. But the mechanic did say that he'd never worked on a lifted 4runner before

    Alignment Issues

On Friday I hit a couple potholes in a row on the passenger side in my 09 T4R, going 25-30mph. It's lifted about 3" with Icon coil overs, shocks, and rear lift springs. It also has Camburg uniball UCAs and 33" MT/Rs. The impact messed up my alignment, causing the car to pull pretty hard to the...

X-REAS replacement with out using lift kit

    200k suspension upgrade

I'd recommend Icon coil overs with Camburg uniball UCAs in the front, and Icon shocks in the rear in combination with a spring of your choice. A lot of people like Toytec and OME springs in the rear. The Icon shocks are amazing for the price, and the Camburg UCAs give you a lot more room for...

    285 17 70 fit with icon stage 1?

285s fit on mine with minor fender trimming in the front. I did upgrade the UCAs to Camburg uniballs, and I think that helped reduce the rubbing. When you're fully stuffed in the back you'll rub the mud flaps, but that's an easy fix.

    Moab! Which trails?

So I'm down in Moab with my family and we're looking for some moderate trails. We're in a 2009 Sport with 33" MT/Rs and Icon coilovers and shocks. I'm pretty unsure about the trail difficulty ratings because I don't want to go somewhere way beyond my driving ability and break the truck. I'm a...

How Fast is it Safe To Go in My 4Runner?

Yuuuuuuuup. I'm ok with people driving fast if they know what they're doing. Dumb mother****ers driving way beyond their abilities are completely unacceptable, though.

How Fast is it Safe To Go in My 4Runner?

You're missing his point. Whether a driving maneuver is possible or not possible (safe vs unsafe), is determined by physics, not by the skill of a driver. Even with the best driver in the world behind the wheel, a 4Runner is going to roll if the driver tries to pull over 1g going 100mph on a...

I'm surprised it can even hit 120 with the aerodynamics of a brick hahaha

Help With Choosing Coils, Shocks, UCAs and Body lift on 2006 4Runner

You definitely do not want to use the Daystar kit in combination with new stuff. That big of a lift would mess with CV angles way too much. I recently went from a Daystar lift to Icon coilovers in the front and Icon shocks in the back. I didn't get new coils in the back. Just left in the Daystar...

    XREAS life expectancy

Just took mine out at 80k. Completely screwed up the mount on one of the shocks. The top nut popped off so the mount bent and it was a goner. Replaced it with Icon coilovers and shocks. The Icon stuff rides a lot better. It's significantly stiffer, and off road it feels like the faster you go...

How Fast is it Safe To Go in My 4Runner?

True, but worse are the people who impose their over-confidence behind the wheel on other drivers and kill somebody. I feel safe driving really really really fast on gravel backroads because I do it so often, but I don't trust that other people driving fast have the same skill to do it safely...

How do I know if my XREAS shock is a goner?

Check the top bolt of the shock! They can be tricky to check since the spring makes everything seem tight. Jack up the front end and use a coil compressor to compress the coil, and then check the bolt. I noticed a clunking noise but everything looked fine, and eventually my top bolt completely...

How Fast is it Safe To Go in My 4Runner?

Some of the dirt roads around here don't have speed limits. The "forest roads" have speed limits under 35mph, even if not posted, but roads that are private or not maintained by the state are wide open. My county doesn't have any local speed laws to regulate speed where it isn't clearly posted...
