Interesting, I recently decided to sell my '12 Trail - was looking to take my equity and get a used Land Cruiser or Lexus Lx 470. Just listed it in the Classifieds section.
I never have driven the LX 470 but have heard a lot of great reviews!
I think what the OP meant to say is how do I identify the kdds on my Trail.
There have been several times since I purchased my Trail that I have had questions on how to identify something or how a feature works. Maybe I should start a thread on "Trail features 101", or "real world examples of...
Comparing Trail model with then w/out KDDS and Navigation. Cost difference between base SR5 and Trail model with KDDS and Navigation is closer to $7,000.
I have owned a '10 SR5 and then upgraded to the '12 Trail. It sounds like you like the rugged looks of the Trail vs the SR5 or Limited - I agree with you. I didn't like all the chrome inserts and the lower side panels.
I have the Trail with the Nav and KDDS. If I had to go without one it would...
I have prudently searched for a thread on propeller shaft lubrication. Found one but the pictures are no longer loading. If there is a thread can it be added here? Many Thanks!
Pictures were taken when tires were new. When I first bought the Trail I sold the stock tires and bought the Cooper AT3's. I had balance issues with them so switched to the AT2's. At first I did have some shimmy at 65-70+. Had the tires rebalanced and that helped but there was still some shimmy...
I was pretty disappointed in the stock 8 speaker set up with my Trail, but I just upgraded the two front dash speakers with kappas and it was a major improvement. We all have different opinions on sound quality bit this is a good place to start.
I also thought about having the dealer install a...
Have had these AT2 tires for about 10,000 miles.
For me they fit the bill - 98% on road 2% off road.
They drive well on roads, and so far have been good off road.
Since some of the treads are close together it does retain small rocks and such when going off road. Here are some pictures.
Thanks for the replies!
Shifting in one smooth motion from H4 to L4 made all of the difference! Some minor grinding but nothing major. Such a simple thing to learn! Reading the owner manual instructions lead you to believe you should stop at N then proceed into L4.
A good week for me with...
I did come to a complete stop then placed the transmision in N first, then shifted the 4WD lever to H4 to N then to L4. No grinding going from H2 to H4 then to N, definitly grinds going from N to L4, then grinds again after shifting to N then back to H4.
Thanks for the insight to make the...
When shifting the FWD control lever on my Trail from N to L4 this morning there seemed to be an excessive amount of gear grinding. Also when switching out of L4 to N then back to H4 there was also excessive gringing - the lever vibrates your hand and you instinctvly want to let go of it.
Is...
Nice find chmura!
It's definitly nice to have some extra money to throw at mods.
Here is a link to a great website to learn more about the 2009 Trail Edition and all other years - Toyota 4Runner History.
It would be interesting to know how many 2009 Trail Edition 4Runners were sold - they...
