Thanks for this info. This makes perfect sense, as my commute is literally 2-3 minutes. This entire winter i've been starting the car, waiting around 30 seconds before taking off. Today I changed my oil and noticed this.... The rest of the oil that came out looked like normal old oil.

So today after running through a large puddle of water (raining like crazy), I started to hear a nasty rattle from underneath the car. Came home to find this: Has this happened to anyone else? The heat shield just above the muffler was almost completely broken off from the 4 nuts holding it...
