Scratch that, I actually tried my old center console lid and it fits, not very well, but good enough to latch.

Looking to buy a center console lid for my 97 4runner which I did the updated center console swap on. I can't find a decent one in a junk yard anywhere near me. Need the darker oak color if available. Thanks, Clint

I know you mentioned typical 8 year old northeast frame rust but do you have any pictures?

When greasing the DC joint, are you able to see grease coming out of it? Every time I try to grease it, grease just piles up around the outside of the zerk. Also I checked the ball detent on the zerk and it is free. All the other U joints take grease but it appears the DC won't. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the advice! I did end up buying a couple of 1/4" wheel spacers in case I do need to run my steel spare which won't work up front with the tundra calipers.

Old thread, I know, to OP, did you ever figure out a solution to this? If I'm following correctly, you bought a junkyard set to swap out when your current boots rip and in the mean time you'd reboot ripped ones with OEM, with no stretching. I will be tossing an SS 1.2 lift on my 97 here...
