This is where I mounted mine. Used the bracket / clip that came with it and 2 short screws. I did a quick double check underneath to make sure I wasn't going to hit any wires and 5 minutes later was done.

I agree. It's not very aesthetic, but functionally it gets high marks. I'd go with shag carpet though. Shag carpet and dildos. A match made in some very twisted heaven.:rockon:

Cool build, but do you need the additional storage? If not, you could just ratchet strap the spare down. You wouldn't add any weight or have to build anything. Simple and cheap...and easily "reversible".

Have you thought about the Victory 4x4 rear bumper offering? It's not $3k and if you only ran the passenger side swing out you wouldn't need to move your camera. Additionally, removing the swingout(s) is super simple, maybe 15 minutes tops, so you could leave it off until you go offroading and...
