I had a feeling I wasn't the only one, I just couldn't think of what to call the damn things. Thanks guys, looks like I have some rummer splash guards on the way.
I've been hearing a flapping noise at highway speeds and finally stuck my face under my car to take a look. There are 2 thin plastic trim pieces that help seal off the engine bay that have disintegrated, take a look at the attached pictures for reference.
I can't find these pieces anywhere on...
I have a set of 6 NGK LFR6AIX-11 iridium spark plugs for sale (these). I bought these years ago for my wife's old Lexus RX350 and never got around to installing them. They'll apparently work in 2010 - 2013 4Runners, so I figure I'll see if anyone is planning on doing a spark plug change any...
I just went this route with the standard Toyota fitting/breather and fuel line method (AKA the cheap way). It's a short and convenient route to take, and you can easily route the breather line along the fuel filler pipe. I posted pictures in the "What did you do" thread yesterday...
I took care of a couple things that I’ve been meaning to do since I bought my 2016 4Runner a few weeks ago. First up: the hitch receiver was rusting, and I won’t stand for rust on my new-ish car. Bumper and receiver come off:
I snagged the PVC I use for portable target stands and a coat...
You'll be fine, I'm not sure why there was so much controversy in this old thread. Just be sure to route the wire in a way that keeps the fuse box watertight.
IMO add-a-circuits are the best way to add one tap without permanently messing with your wiring harness. If you end up needing power...
Just to be sure since this is what it sounds like happened based on your first post:
You are disengaging the rear parking brake after you jack up your rear axle, right? If you had disengaged it before doing your rear brakes, then you wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. It would...
I hardwired my dash camera today. I was surprised by how tiny the interior fuse box is - I ended up not being able to replace the fuse box cover. I might try to find a different way to tap into the electrical system without using vampire taps.
While I had the A pillar cover off and overhead...
Question for the spark plug thread: I bought NGK LFR6AIX-11 plugs for my wife's old RX350 a while back and never used them. Will these work in a 4Runner?
It looks like NGK ILFR6A or NGK PLFR6A-11 plugs are replacement options for the Denso plugs, but I'm not entirely sure what NGK's product...
Yesterday I bought it. This morning I installed some nerf bars so my short, pregnant wife can climb into it more easily.

There's probably one buried in this thread somewhere, but does anyone have a pic of a red logo on a Barcelona Red 4Runner? I can't tell if the colors will be close enough to look good or just different enough to look like crap.
