Shimmy turned out to be a slightly loose steering rack tensioner. Glad that’s sorted, but this will be up for sale this weekend if anyone is in the LA area and interested. I’ll post the CL ad once it’s up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Be absolutely sure you don’t have air in the system. I used a vacuum bleeder first and had tons of air in the lines after my TBU. Enlisted my son to help on a 2-man bleed and got it down pat. Pressure bleeds are better than vacuum, but simple is sometimes best. TBU does introduce a softer...

Here we go - lots of progress this weekend. Starting with the front and rear bumpers. I picked up the rear bumper from the junkyard a few weeks back and installed today. Pulled and painted the front bumper as well, cool dark gray color matched with one of the rear corner caps. This has 3 coats...

So much this. I figured this out as I had hot oil dribbling down my arm… of course whoever last did the oil change had gorilla’d the filter on, requiring a strap wrench and plenty of swear words :flamethrwoer2:

Yeah, I was thinking the same but found the press locally and have a few other jobs for it, or I’ll just sell along for most of what I paid. Seller did a front-end job on his Honda and included a bearing press kit, ball joint press (the big C-clamp), and a set of SAE and metric taps / dies in...

    What the Hell is this!?

Oh here we go... Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. lolol The VIP system (again dealer / port install) for the 80 series had a wire running up the driver's B pillar for the antenna, which btw was not that good. Maybe it was different for the 3rd gen?

What’s the other end attached to? Looks like an antenna for something.

Some good progress this weekend, even if it didn’t fix my shimmy at speed it was time to retire the ITREs. This was a simple job with the right tool rented from O’Reilly. It was also time to get after the oil change and swapping out all the gear oil. Whoever designed the oil filter placement...

Late night junk food run last night revealed a burnt-out climate control bulb. A little searching, and the single bulb is easy to replace by pulling the front of the climate control, removing the plastic lens (don’t break the retaining tab), and pulling out the burnt bulb. The green cap is...
