Tracking New 4Runner inventory (and markups)

I was recently on the hunt for a new 4Runner to replace my 2016. Once I saw all of the markups at my local dealers, I decided to wait. I'm a software developer and I figured there had to be a way to gather up the new inventory data and compare models easily. My goal was to find vehicles that...

Odyssey Group 34 - Whats been your experience?

I had this issue and found the culprit here in this thread: Finding/Removing GPS Tracker I found myself connecting the Odyssey charger to the battery once every 1-2 months and it was frustrating. Once I found and removed the faulty GPS tracker that the dealer installed on my car, the problem...

Hah, sure! It will certainly save you lots of weight. I've made a few "errors" on trails and quickly discovered that my factory skid plates were taking a good beating. :)

It seems okay, but I haven't bumped any rocks that far back yet. :)

    Finding/Removing GPS tracker

If you want to pull back the panel, put your hand in next to the steering wheel and pull back on it. The panel underneath the mirror and lighting controls will pop down far enough to make quick adjustments. If you need to remove it entirely, remove the bolt on the left side of the panel towards...

Odyssey Group 34 - Whats been your experience?

I have the 34R-PC1500 and it has worked well so far. I've noticed that I can keep my ham radio and other accessories on while starting the car and they remain on the whole time. My original FLA battery would allow the voltage to drop far enough that my radio would shut off. The downside is that...

    Skid plate recommendations

I picked up the full set of skid plates from Shrockworks. They are incredibly sturdy and easy to install. Sand them, spray primer, spray paint, and install with a socket set. I painted mine semi-gloss black and they look pretty good. If you scuff them, just get out your rattle can of spray...

    Finding/Removing GPS tracker

Success: https://imgur.com/gallery/qUgulz2 Thanks for the removal tips. That was fairly easy to remove. There was some awfully sticky Velcro there that held it to a panel behind the push button for the AC inverter. I'm glad to have this thing off the car. The battery is also bulging and feels...

    Finding/Removing GPS tracker

Oh wow. Thanks for that. Got any tips on how to remove the panel? Just clips or are there screws to remove?

    Finding/Removing GPS tracker

I messed around under the dash and found this: http://imgur.com/gallery/3gRs1SV It looks a little unusual and has a green paper with eyelets punched out wrapped around it. It has "5 AMP" written on the black rectangle. It looks unusual but I'll keep hunting.

    Finding/Removing GPS tracker

When I bought my 4Runner from the dealer, they had already added a GPS tracking system from APEX Protect. It came with a year of tracking for free, but I never used it and I'd like to remove it from my car. I'm dealing with a battery trickle when my car is powered off and I'm hoping this helps...

    Maxtrax mounting options

I picked up the Maxtrax mounting pins and they didn't work well at all with the Gobi Rack. It was impossible to get a wrench underneath the rack to get the hardware on. I was frustrated and out $50. A quick trip to Autozone and $2.99 later, I had some rubber tie down straps that were the pefect...

Gobi Rack - Advantage and disadvantages

So far, I'd say it's worth the wait. It's a really well built rack. I've had a couple of my neighbors come over and ask about it.
