I can't tell you guys how badly I want to sell my taco and get a third gen. When I was five I saw a Toyota commercial with a green 3rd gen romping through some mud and I've wanted one ever since. Just saw a clean green lifted runner with meats on it and its sparked my desire again :/.
I don't know if there are any 4runner specific products out there but you can always get some bushings and longer bolts for the carrier bearing and drop it down an inch or so
Yeah it basically has a square tube for strength running along the bottom and then an angled up round tube to protect the sill when you're on really off camber terrain.
I'm not quite sure how to post pics over here but if someone could help me I'd be happy to share some from his site
That is one beautiful 4runner kinda makes me wanna sell my Tacoma all over again. Youre lucky you have your dad hooked lol mine has modified cars in the past and is trying to keep me out of it for as long as he can because of the amount of money it can eat up
I'm going with dome skid row skids when the time comes for my taco. For sliders im probably going with relentless fab...Eric makes some insanely awesome hybrid sliders. I'm not sure he has anything out for t4rs but he can do just about anything you ask. Check out relentlessfabrication.com
Wow these are some great stories guys.
One story that will sticks out for me will be one I never forget. Down my road (it's windy and is covered in trees and vegetation) there is this abandoned church. It's where we all used to go and sneak into to skate and mess around in. Keep in mind this...
I can't find em but I guess that's alright, you still have an original runner :).
I would definitely buy a rack from you if I had a runner and I may end up building one for my taco but I know I'd take it off down the road anyway to do a flatbed conversion.
Pricing wise I'm going to have to disagree with you. It would cost me about 500 dollars shipped for 4 treadwright guard dogs (285/75/16) whereas it would cost me upwards of 850 for legitimate Goodyear m/t's. I can wait a few weeks to save $350.
Wow I didn't realize they were so expensive and in such high demand. Some guys over on Tacomaworld will let brand new 2nd generation trd offroad rims go for $200 haha. I think i would be willing to go up in price now though.
