My brother works on the mountain and mentioned this to me yesterday. I don't have much to add but you have my prayers and my brother is on the hill helping with the search efforts.

    anyone interested in a 97 T4R SR5 with 25,000 miles?

Regardless of mileage, I would have an extremely hard time buying ANY vehicle that came from Michigan.

Brainless question about changing fuel filter... LOL

Yea, I have a set of line wrenches. That was not the issue. I returned the filter to Toyota, got one from a parts store and did not have the same issue.

    Yukon Zip Locker Review

I daily drove trucks with rear aussie lockers for 12 years. Not sure what everyone is talking about as far as changing driving habits. Install, drive, enjoy. What's the big deal?? Was great in the snow. TRACTION..

Cheap used snow tires and rims or chains, which would you buy first?

It is always good to err on the side of caution, especially when traveling in the mountains. If it makes you more comfortable to drive with snow tires then it looks like you have access to some for a very good price. If it were me (who learned to drive in Minnesota), I would be perfectly...

Cheap used snow tires and rims or chains, which would you buy first?

What tires are you running right now, and what condition are they in? Do you have the multi-mode transfer case? I just have some Firestone Destination AT's, and would not hesitate to drive anywhere. I would not even consider carrying chains around for on-road stuff. Too heavy, and they are...

Cheap used snow tires and rims or chains, which would you buy first?

What type of driving are you talking about? You mentioned "IN the mountains" but are you talking snowpacked roads or deep snow on forest service roads? What kind of tires are you currently running? Mine is on some AT's and is a beast in the snow. As long as you know HOW to drive in the snow...

    My Aussie Locker Review

I daily drove trucks with aussie lockers installed in the rear diff for 10+ years. This included snow / ice / whatever you can find in Minnesota or Colorado. People think about it to much. If you want a cheap locker, buy one and install it. If you aren't willing to deal with the quirks...

    Gentry's 2001 4Runner Build

Monarch was off the charts yesterday. Took me 3 hours to get there and 3.5+ to get back though. Base is a little thin so watch out for rocks, I hit quite a few but luckily didn't get too many deep scratches. Thank god for snow..

    Gentry's 2001 4Runner Build

I did some e-haggling with the owner of that one. I never saw it in person but it looks awesome and really well cared for. I just could not come up with what the guy wanted but I drooled over that truck for a while. I ended up buying one here in COS. Nice truck!

What is the best situation for AWD or 4hi

High traction surface (pavement) = AWD Low traction surface (dirt road) = 4hi/low However if you were stuck on a snowy road or if it was really bad 4hi/lo would be appropriate. Basically you do not want to be in 4hi unless the wheels are able to slip/spin to a degree.

    Smittybilt Trail Jack Mounting

You sure you need the taller one? I would just go with the 48". Taller isn't necessarily better and could be a hindrance. Aren't the taller ones 60"?
