Whiteline Lower Control Arm Bushing Tutorial (120+ Pictures)

Just came across the thread while trying to find some info on the white line inner bushings. Getting ready to go through my wifes 04 4Runner with 210K miles on it! Anyway, just wanted to say great write up! Thanks!

Bumping an old thread... but like everything I've pretty much migrated everything over to IG nevada4wheelin. Easier to post pics and updates there.

Cardone Reman Brake Booster = GARBAGE

I just found this thread while searching for brake boosters and wanted to give my 2 cents. When I bought my 2000 4.5 years ago, the guy told me the only thing he had ever done to it was put a brake booster on it. Two years after I got it, that aftermarket booster went out, not sure what brand...

    transfer case interchange?

I swapped a limited t-case for a standard J-shift case in my 00 Limited. Besides the driveshafts being different lengths, the truck needs to be changed to turn the front diff on and off. It's not hard to do, I used a 5 pole relay to control the front diff actuator. The wires are all part of the...

Hilux 167 snorkel for 3rd gens

Just an FYI to anyone running this snorkel, I replaced the head with a pre-cleaner style head and had to take it off. When under load, in 2nd and D, above 3400RPM or so my truck would loose all power until I got off the accelerator. When it lost power you could hear a "air sucking through...

    3rd gen Limp mode?

Figured out the problem... I installed one of those spin type pre-cleaners on top of my 167 snorkel last week. While driving to work the morning after I typed this up, I ran it up to see if it would still do it, it did. With the window down I noticed, when it lost power, you could hear an almost...

    3rd gen Limp mode?

That would definitely be an easy fix! Thanks.

    3rd gen Limp mode?

I changed the oil last week, thats the only thing that has been done recently, I'll check again and see if I knocked anything loose. I do run a scan gauge, I'll look up those fuel trim numbers again and see what it does.

    3rd gen Limp mode?

2000 LMTD, 3.4, Auto, 4x4. Yesterday I'm headed back from a 3 day trip with the family and the truck starts doing something funny. I first noticed it when I started climbing a hill on the interstate, truck downshifts from OD to D as it always does, but instead of revving up and powering up the...

Multimode transfer case to standard J-shift

Not sure I follow... This is exactly how a regular J-shift truck is wired, so why would it work there, but not in a converted truck?

Be careful with those aftermarket loaded control arms. I put one on mine and had TONS of problems! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NTq-YMegMjU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    MandAtaco (Manda4Runner-?) Build Thread

When I rebuilt the front suspension 2.5 years ago I put everything new in it, except the lower control arm bushings. Well, 3 were original and I had to replace one, you can read back on that mess. Anyway I noticed lately that the front end was starting to wonder around while braking and...

You got it, M-12. Just a hair smaller than 1/2", basically just reemed the hole out so I could use the reducer.

Yea, the lower pin is a 3/8" bolt that I cut the head off of, and drilled a cotter pin hole into. There's enough thread that I can adjust the bolt back and forth in the A-arm so that I keep the lower rod end from bouncing back and forth. I just adjusted it until the cotter pin has just a little...
