Hey while this thread is active, What's the signs of needing a new pump? Just lack of oil pressure? Did it throw a code? Just wondering cause I have 235K/TMU on mine.

I brought my 4Runner to get it's inspection sticker. As part of the test they plug into the vehicle's OBD port. When the tech went to do that he noticed I have a bluetooth dongle plugged in to run the torque app on my phone. The truck was running and when he unplugged my dongle the motor...

Jeez, I didn't realize my mistake would get some people so up in arms. What happened was I did a search for 3RZ because that's what's in my runner and because I'm old and I didn't see the original posting date. I didn't resurrect the thread to get my 15 posts. Some people just make mistakes...

Buttoned up a couple loose ends from the head project, gave the underside a good pressure wash as prep for fluid film. Scratched my head for a while trying to troubleshoot a high idle problem I'm trying to solve. Other than that, I drove it for the first time in 6 weeks!

Got the head off today. As suspected, one of the exhaust valves in #2 NG. Going to the machine shop tomorrow. Gasket looked good and the 2 bores I can see look good.
