I can confirm I replaced mine 3 years ago and it it still "like new" here in Arizona. Heat is not affecting the new one.

I put a OTTRAW switch in: (V1D1JNNB- AMBER UPPER DEPENDENT, AMBER LOWER INDEPENDENT) OTRATTW 20 bucks, a bit of modding, but they work perfectly!

FYI, if you contact Wet Okole, they will repair the rear for a nominal fee. They fixed mine for 20 bucks!

I did the install myself, but it would of been immensely easier with another person. FYI, the brackets go on top of the hinge bolts (don't ask!) :redface: And you can open the doors to get one more bolt out to make moving the fender easier.

Local Toyota shop, used OEM parts on it. Took most of the day, but the local "stealership" wanted 2100.00 to do the same job.

I would lube the driveshaft and see if it stops. Wont hurt anything to do it, and it just might solve your problem. For what its worth, sounds like it is the driveshaft to me.

Yep, 100% no problems since I did the swap. Glad I did it, that dang noise was driving me insane! Like you said, it's been a bit over 1.5 years and the noise has not come back. If I remember correctly, I could actually feel the pulsing with the noise, which led me to change it out.
