thanks for the advice, it turned out to be the coil packs that were bad on mine. I went back and re-traced my work and found that i mismatched two of the spark plug wires. Next time i'll be sure to draw out the diagram!

I had a 98 4runner 3.4l and now i have a 01 tacoma with a 3.4l that is having a misfiring issue. came back to T4R because I think this is the best site for solving problems. Started out by pulling away from a gas station and running rough. checked codes and they were p0300, p0301, p0302...
