    V6 Gas Mileage...

I'll check the next time I fill up and then post the results on this thread. I usually leave it on Average MPG's and just reset it each time I fill. I rarely move it to display the range. The Average MPG's on the display is almost always 2 MPG's higher than my actual MPG's (which I always...

    V6 Gas Mileage...

No kidding! I was surprised when I saw the email that there was a post here. Anyway, my gas mileage seems to have leveled off - was much better in the summer and worse in the winter (probably a combination of 4WD and winter fuel). The best I got in the summer was around 21 with almost all...

    Possible Oil Change Mistake?

Thanks all, appreciate it! I'm going to get it changed soon, but glad to know we should be ok. I'll also keep in mind what blaniac22 said about the type of driving as well - good advice. Thanks again for all of the quick responses! Matt

    Possible Oil Change Mistake?

So, at the end of last January, I changed the oil in my 4Runner for the first time on my own. We don't drive the 4Runner that often and haven't hit 5,000 miles since the oil change, however, it's been almost a year now, and I'm concerned that we may have waited too long (I've heard not to go...

    Installed Homelink...

Just wanted to say that I appreciate all of the input and advice on this forum. When we bought our 4Runner, it didn't come with the homelink, so after researching the forum, I bought one on eBay and the install was a piece of cake with help from a previous thread. Thanks again and glad to be...

Strange Brake Pedal Vibration - Normal?

When I had my previous 4Runner ('06), I had the same thing. I also have the vibration on my '07 (though not as pronounced, but we bought it used, so not sure if they changed anything). My co-worker has an '06 Sport v8 (mine are/were both SR5 v6's) and it's on his when I drove it as well...

Display Light and Rear Brake Light

Thanks for the detailed post with part numbers! The right side of my display has been out for a few weeks now, just haven't had a chance to pull it apart yet. Had found the threads you mentioned and was going to give it a shot. Appreciate the extra details. Will be replacing the bulb this...

    helppp! major oil leak?

Looks like this guy posted his 4Runner v8 failure on the TundraSolutions website (not sure why he didn't post here). Looks like he had an '03 Sport V8. I searched and found his first post about buying the vehicle on here. Not a lot of information though: 03 V8 engine failure. any others...

    helppp! major oil leak?

Wow, with all the hate on the v6 that I've seen, I'm starting to regret my decision to buy one, especially a used one. We got the v6 for the few extra mpg's, but now am not sure it was worth it. 5 failures for the v6 is a lot considering the amount of owners on this thread. I sure hope we...

Did you buy the extended warranty when you bought your used 4R?

We didn't, but we bought it with 67,000 miles on it, so don't qualify for the Toyota warranty, only aftermarket. If we could get the Toyota warranty, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I've heard horror stories about aftermarket warranties, and they wanted over $2,000 for not very good coverage....

    Need advice on warranty????

From what I understand, the extended warranty from Toyota has to be purchased within the first 3 years/36,000 miles. Can anyone confirm this? We looked at a few warranties and were quoted around $2,000 from a 3rd party warranty company. The warranty from Toyota would be the only one we are...

    Really frustrated with snow traction...

The reason we bought this 4Runner is because of how good my '06 was in the snow. In fact, after I got rid of it, I couldn't wait to get another one. However, for some reason, this one just doesn't feel nearly as glued to the road like my other 4Runner. I guess I could be driving this one...

    Really frustrated with snow traction...

Right now the tires are at 35 PSI. They were installed by a national tire chain and filled to 38-39 PSI when I got them. The max is 35, so I have no idea why they filled them so much. I may try lowing the PSI to see if this helps. Thanks for the suggestion...

    Really frustrated with snow traction...

Just to clarify, the problem isn't with deep snow (haven't had a chance to take it into any yet), it's more of either packed snow or slush that I'm having the problem. When turning, even at slow speeds, it just feels like the back end wants to slip, so I slow down even more, otherwise, the back...

    Really frustrated with snow traction...

Running Michelin Cross Terrains. They were new as of October 30th. They have less than 5,000 miles on them...
