I ended up 3-linking the 4Runner, revalving the bypasses/coilovers and several other things.
If you’re planning on running a cantilever kit you have to 3-link it to get good clean travel. No other way around it.
The valving supplied was pretty far off and blew through the travel easily so I...
I haven't been on here in awhile... haha my bad!
I'll make a better write-up later, but here's the majority of it...
Went down on a 3 day baja trip a few weeks ago and the thing was solid!
The rear feels WAY better than it did before. It's now keeping up with or out performing the...
You're correct, you can absolutely obtain the same travel with a longer shock through the cab, since that's what most other SUVs do.
Though it might be difficult to find a decent coil that's that tall. I think trying to fit a coilover/bypass setup would be tough.
I replaced my Tundra that had a...
I've had the Smittybilt XL for a few years and love it. The awning that comes over the front door annoyed me, so I did trim that off.
There's tons of room inside.
Not much storage on the rack with the tent on.
I have the Prinsu full rack and have the tent pushed all the way forward. If I...
My buddy and I built one for mine

I have the drilled version (which isn't bad and takes only a few minutes by the way).
But the rack is awesome. As far as the static/dynamic load is concerned... I've jumped the 4runner a few times with the Smittybilt XL RTT on it (140lbs).
And the rack holds up fine
I don't remember the exact measurement, but I have the same springs in the rear and my delta was about 3/4" lower on the driver's side WITH the 10mm OME shim.
I just ordered another 10mm shim to add...I agree it drives me crazy as well!
Cantilever setups work great! You should definitely pull the trigger and do it so you can make me jealous, haha.
I always figured the fuel tank would be in the way but it looks like they kept it on the FJ. I wonder if you could get that FJ setup to work with the 4Runner...
It'd be awesome to...
Right on thanks for the contact info. I'll shoot him a message when I'm ready to pick a set up.
Glad to hear it... Sounds like a way cheaper/better option than punching through the cab or cantilever setup, haha.
Yeah bypass tuning takes some time for sure. But always worth it once you get it...
