I don't mean to resurrect an older thread but I'm trying to do the same thing today and the link Antman posted goes to a part of his massive thread that's not relevant at all.
I know this is an old thread, but wanted to thank you for posting this - just ordered my parts today. I picked up this 2011 4-Runner with all kinds of upgrades and one of them was the Gobi Rack. I picked up a hi-lift jack and had nowhere to put it - this should work great. Appreciate it!
