Spike in Thefts / Relay Attacks

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/toyota-lexus-relay-attack-1.5380947 This article is making the rounds today up north - I know over the years here I've seen a few people have stolen T4Rs that they suspect was stolen by the relay attack. Have to wonder if there's a chance Toyota will do...

    Home Built Drawer System Finished!

Nice job! Did you use the Dometic slideout kit? I've been considering it for my CFX65 for a year but haven't bitten the bullet yet. What drawer hardware did you use for the locking slides? I like the flip out shelf you added there.

Greasing UCA Bushings / Tight Clearance

Just an update - was able to unbolt the 12mm and get a torque wrench in there okay and get everything greased up in the end - was still a little tight, only had issues on the driver side, passenger side had a tiny bit more clearance so it was a bit quicker.

Greasing UCA Bushings / Tight Clearance

Was about to grease my UCA bushings (TC UCAs) on the weekend and realized before backing off the nut on the through bolt that I wouldn't have clearance for a torque wrench to re-torque things when I was done. It looks like there is a hard line in the way, unsure if it is maybe for the AC, or...

Issue / Question Regarding disengaging LE 4WD

So, this happened to me when my LE was brand new and I was on my first trail run with a bunch of friends. I eventually realized the knob doesn't only require a turn, but a press at the same time to get in and out of 4LO. Think of it like a child proof medicine top. Are you pushing the whole...

Winter Capabilities of Our Power Steering Fluid

I've taken my 4Runner up into northern Canada and regularly had no issues in -40C/F. Keep an eye on the making sure the battery is in good condition and topped up, otherwise everything should be fine. On my FJ Cruiser the clutch would get really heavy when cold below -30c but no worries about...

    1/9/19 - Toyota Expands Takata Air Bag Safety Recall : 2010-2016 4Runners

Same status for Canada, I would keep checking to see when it updates thereby allowing you to make an appt.

    Techstream / TPMS Help

Update for others, waiting fixed it. About 30mins of driving and it was out.

    Techstream / TPMS Help

I've done this at least 6 times without an issue, but went to changeover my TPMS last night and for some reason my light is still illuminated. Checked all my pressures, and went into TechStream and everything is reading okay and above threshold, IDs are proper and registered. The pressures in...

(5Gen Official Baby Car Seat Photo Thread)Baby car seat on brand new 18 leather seats

Mine were installed for 3 years in my Limited, after a week of them out they're pretty much back to normal again, although I'll keep finding Cheerios for another decade.

    Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Just got my replacement in today - full metal handle that is much nicer than the one I sent back. I had my 4Runner extinguisher as well as another one in the kitchen affected that were quite old and probably should have been replaced anyhow.

TPMS and tire rotation on 2017 LE

FWIW, Techstream on my '15 LE just shows 5 positions labeled 1-5.

Hidden Winch mount on an LE?

Double check, when I shopped sliders Bud needed the lower LE trim removed on both sides for the sliders to fit, ended up going with the MetalTech OPOR sliders instead, have been pretty happy with them. Bud might have updated since then though, so YMMV.

    5th Gen For Sale/Wanted Thread

Non-TE Crossbars? Looking for a set of non-TE cross bars if I can get them shipped decently inexpensive. Hoping to tide me over until I can get a full rack. Let me know what you've got (I'm in Canada, so up north or West Coast would be great)
