Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

I honestly don't remember what I got, other than following Crutchfield's recommendations. I know I paid for the wiring service (worth it) and there was a additional integrated harness for the steering wheel controls. Other than running a wire to the reverse signal wire in the fuse box near your...

Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

It works just fine, especially for the price. Night vision is fine. The only thing I don't like is that it is slightly off center in that location which in reality is an issue with most reverse cams.

Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

I ordered this one... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073J3JZ1R/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 On the home page of the HU, there is a button called "Camera". I just hit that and the view of the camera appears. As I said earlier, I ran the power lead from the camera all the way...

Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

Yes, if you only want it to be able to come on when on reverse, you splice into the rear tail light for power. Mine still automatically comes up when I put in reverse, as it still is triggered by the reverse signal, but I also have the option of just turning it on via the HU when I'm not in...

Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

It took me the best part of 4 hours of solid work spread over the course of a day. I had never done one before, and I really didn't understand the wiring at first. I wanted the ability to turn it on even if I wasn't in reverse, so I tapped the power into the radio switched power rather than the...

Sony XAV-AX100 Installed (Photos & Short Review)

I have the same HU that I also bought off Crutchfield in my 04 Limited. Crutchfield customer service was top notch. I use Android Auto and needed the parking brake wire tapped. They also helped me as the previous owner had installed a aftermarket amp and we managed to figure that out and get it...

Independent use of Fog Light Mod

I just did this on my 04 Limited. On my first try, the prong broke off the relay when I bent it. So, $19 later from Autozone, I tried again. Works great. I used a "Add a fuse" from Amazon into the seat heater fuse. It was a tight squeeze, but it just about works...

    2 In 1 Key Fob 4Th Gen

I received my Ebay key this week. I programmed the Fob no problem, but Lowes, Home Depot and OSH all refused to cut the key. I took it to my local Toyota dealer and they agreed to cut it, but were pretty adamant that it would not work. They charged $20 to cut it and then said that I would need...

    Wtb 4Runner 5star rims

Don't sell to this guy. We agreed a price and shipping (after I took the wheels to Fedex and UPS to get him the best quote), but when it came time to pay, he disappeared with no further contact or explanation.

    Weird starting issue...

Just an update to this... I bought the contact replacement kit. When we pulled the old ones, they looked really worn. New ones are in and so far, I appear to be cured. Thanks for all your advice.

    Weird starting issue...

Thanks for the tip - I'll check how many cranking amps I have on this battery. I have the starter repair kit on the way, so I will do that as well.

    Weird starting issue...

The shop I took it to only replaced the relay, at which point everything started working again, so they did not replace the starter itself. I rather commend them on not replacing the starter and charging me a few hundred bucks as I wouldn't have known any better. However, with the tips I have...
