Based on what you described you should be looking at the 50 Series SUV muffler. It seems as though it would be right up your alley. If you want more volume than that you could toto the 40 series or you could be quieter by going to the 70 series which is barely louder than stock. At the same...

This is pure speculation, but based on that short muffler coupled to the smallish resonators at the end and large tips, that system might sound kind of "farty" but who knows.

I've been looking at the Gibson Cat Back setup for our V6's with some interest. It's $285 at Burtman Industries and has the low tone, and low drone (it's one of the quieter systems you'll find) I'm looking for. The only downside is that it's rear exit, you'd have to take it to a shop to modify...

I'm not a fan of the Flowmaster sound...it's over done. Also, the 40 is about the loudest they make now, if I had to go Flowmaster I'd probably end up with a 70 series.

Finding wrecked FJ's is turning out to be tougher than expected at the local junkyards. I'll probably just go an easy route and get the Gibson muffler (788500) that they throw on the cat back and turn the rear tip out the side..... Any local muffler shop could do this in a lunch break.

Wow, good find. Interesting, so that would make us think the mufflers are the same. I'll still get under the two vehicles and see if there are any distinguishing marks on the mufflers that we can use to identify.

I noticed the resonator, but from the posts I recalled and read here, the resonator made minimal difference. I'm of the thought that the mufflers are totally different beasts. I'm going to hop under both Toyo's this week and see if I can visually determine a difference.
