Between those two I would go with the Original 40. Difference is super 40 is quiter in the cab. I'm running the super 10 and it sounds great. It is only a little bit louder than the 40.
I have an ELM 327, works flawlessly on my 2000. I don't use torque thought. I run an app called dash command for the iPhone, and my ELM 327 is the wifi model.
