Up under the hood on the drivers side wheel well it has (2) Vacuum modules when I take the line from one which has the vacumm on it and place it on the other the 4 wheel drive engages when I put them back the way they were it disengages.
97 4 runner 4 wheel drive issues
My 97 4 runner will not engage my 4 wheel drive. The indicator light on the dash lights up but I have nothing. Went under the hood and on the drivers side I can change the vacuum on the actuators and it engages Any Ideas ?
I too am having the same issue. Out of the blue my 97 started misfiring, changed out the plugs, no difference, just replace all 3 coil packs a little better but still misfiring P300 code. I'm looking for that magic answer as well.
Fuel Issues 1997 Four Runner
Had a problem like yours, one day went out the engine wouldn't start just cranked, went out of town couple of days later tried and started right up. Drove over 1,000 miles for the week, came out of Walmart wouldn't start but cranked. Towed home.... Next day checked...
