Yep. I'd scrap it. Take what you can get for it. $1K sounds good like the above poster said. Then, get a loan if you need it and grab another used and comparable runner if that is what you all want to stay in. Wrecks suck. Glad everyone is okay.

I have always wondered this same thing. I had manual hubs on my 85 Jeep CJ7. Every other 4WD vehicle I have had since had automatic. I have always thought that the auto locking hubs were convenient. Unless it is a reliability issue, then I get it I suppose.

Interested to see this tire carrier. I use my trailer hitch too much to use the same idea, but I am definitely interested to see how it comes out, where you'll mount/ wire the lights for your license plate.
