You don't need a torque wrench. Just tighten them as tight as you can with a 1/2" ratchet. I think the bolt heads are 14mm. I would remove the caliper completely and paint it on a bench. That way you know where the over spray is going. But you do need to clean it real good. New calipers...

Has nothing to do with Toyota Corporate...but your Toyota dealer. Not sure who's making Toyota's oil these days. Last I knew it was Quaker State. It all comes down to what what oil they carry.

They're also worthless for every day use vehicles. Great for race cars though.

No matter what vehicle you buy..anyone with that many miles the key is how well it was maintained. My 05 now has over 275k miles and runs EXCELLENT. But I keep it well maintained.

Hydraulic valves are self adjusting. Not sure if the 99 has hydraulic valves.

The only problem with the brakes on these vehicles is the calipers. When ever you replace the rotors you should replace the pads. The pads may wear faster and uneven if you don't. OEM pads are fine...Hawk, or Wagner are as good or better and about 1/3 the price.

Places like Advance auto and Pep-Boys carry the cheapest parts possible....That's why I don't buy from them. Place I buy parts from has a wide selection of pumps made in the US and Japan. More expensive then Advance auto...but still much cheaper then the Dealer.

Bull...you work for a dealer. #1 Toyota has had some problems with their water pumps. Many needing to replace the pump while still under warranty. Many good pump manufacturers are building more reliable pumps then Toyota's OEM pumps. #2 I've never seen or heard of anyone having a problem with...

Yes rotors don't warp...but the warping is THEE MOST COMMON TERM used when describing this. You go to any auto parts store or any mechanic...and when you say the rotors are warped - they'll know exactly what you're talking about.

You'll probable get as many opinions as there are people. My favorite are the Cooper Discovery HT. For a little more aggressive tire I like the Cooper Discovery AT3 (this is what I have on the 4runner now).

Battery should be fine. Any battery acid that came out - just dilute with water or get some baking soda and piur it on and rincce down with water.
