Thanks so much for replying -- the bolts are gone all together, apparently. He found a bolt to temporary tighten whatever it was that was causing the gear shift to be lose, but it's not the correct size, so temp fix. He said that the bolts to the 4wd unit were missing also. I guess I'll need...
