    Actually this confirms my last post. When he shifts, only one of the shift rods is moving. Same operation as if he had twin sticks. So either buy a twin stick kit, or get the shift rods both lined up and slide in the interlock pin. Step 72 on marlins install directions. (4.70:1 Gear Install...

    Ok forget about the pins I posted pictures of and focus on the interlock pin. That would cause him to not be able to get it out of gear because the second shift rod is not moving along with the first. It makes sense since he is saying he has to remove lever to manually shift one of the rods...
