A KDSS on/off switch sounds like the perfect solution. There should be a kdss fuse in the drivers footwell. What I dont know is if the locks the system engaged or disengaged. Try pulling it and see what happens.

I don't rightly know if kdss would affect ride over washboard. The larger anti roll bars fitted to the kdss truck should have a larger affect over moguls at speed than washboard. As long as both wheels on a given axle hit a bump at the same time the anti roll bars, whether a kdss or a regular...

LOL. When I took delivery of my Trail the tires were all 44 lbs. No light on. I kinda figured a dealer would know better.

#1 is more than likely the fuel system charging on start up and draining on shut down. I'm told it has something to do with the ignition interlock/anti-theft. I know that's it's normal for sure though, every toyota I've driven in the last 5 years has had the same noise.
