Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Solid work on the site. Really clean interface, fantastic photography and just enough info (not too much, but just enough). Keep it up.

    Eric's Build/Adventure Thread

This thread is an excellent combo of build and adventure. Any more updates to either?

Matt's 07 - Build to the perfect Daily Driven wheeler

This build is nearly identical to what I want mine to look like. Ive got a 2008 SR5 and hoping I can build it up to be as good looking and as capable as this one. Really love the FJ wheels. I'll have to track down a pair of those. Thanks for putting this together.

My better late than never build thread

Do you find that you end up using the trans and transfer case skids on the 5th gen? I'm just trying to figure out if I'm just being overly nervous? Or is it actually prudent to buy the full protection package?

My better late than never build thread

This is such a nice build thread, thanks for taking the time to correct the photo embeds too. I've got an '08 that I just purchased. Thanks for all the ideas. I am looking at the same RCI skid. Did you buy the full length skid package? Or just the front skid only? Any reason to buy the full...

The Grocery Getter: Mrs. Bigfish's 2008 Sport Edition V6 4wd

Did I miss this somewhere? What wheels are those? I too have a black '08 and those look really nice.

Clunk noise turning Left-Right in 2008 Toyota 4Runner!!!

Just bumping this thread. Love this community. Came back from a road trip after recently replacing brake calipers. Was experiencing clunk at full left and full right lock. Greased the steering stops with some bicycle grease. Clunking stopped. We'll see how long that grease lasts. Might have to...

Well executed. Don't want to jack the thread anymore, PM incoming.

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Exactly. Hanging out in the parking lot at Alta and everyone else is sitting on real truck tailgates and I have to whip out a chair. Would be nice to just slide out of my platform. 1.5x the length in the vehicle you think? Currently, the way I have it drawn up in SketchUp is 14" of tailgate...

C4 FAB early 4th gen (03-05) Lo-Pro winch bumper install guide.

Also very interested in the 06-09 version. Looks like exactly what I'd need for my 2008.

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

Just thought I'd follow up to add to the discussion, especially since this thread is such a valuable source of info. To clarify, after further workup, my 2008 SR5 DOES NOT have a head gasket leak. I couldn't handle my own post-purchase paranoia and took it down to the dealership and...

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Haha I've had all the same thoughts. Land Cruiser is outta the question now, just bought the 4Runner. I looked at the 3600 Series Ryadon Slides, but like you said, I don't want to take the height penalty. Was thinking of having 1.25" thick piece of solid baltic birch which would slide right out...

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Love this whole build thread. I have a feeling I'll probably closely emulate a lot of your build in my 4th get build. First order of business is to build my sleeping platform. Saw your slide out tailgate table and decided to try to incorporate a more robust version in mine which can hold the...

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

No check engine light. I'm debating getting a code reader. Thanks for the tips, I'll check the radiator tomorrow morning. Thanks. I'm just nervous because I had a Mazda 3 that was horribly unreliable and expensive. The reason I bought a 4runner was the legendary reliability. Good to know that...
