Planning on repairing front-end damage myself but there are two roadblocks.

I had a front end crash and I also had to replace everything, which I did myself, I got all used junk yard parts.. ran me about $500. If the alignment is okay - I wouldn't stress too much about the frame. It would be very obvious if it is driving crooked. Rust? LOL - the runner has no rust...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I had a similar issue once - it ended up being a crank position sensor - pulled one off an old runner in the junk yard for $2 - then all was good.

What clear coat did you use, if any? Impressive results! Nice Job.

Do you also have the front Nitros? Could you do a mini review of the Nitros when you have a minute - been thinking about these for a long time. Thnx

Looks great. How do you like the nitro chargers over bumps? Been really thinking about these. Just afraid they’d be too harsh or stiff over potholes or uneven manholes over 20mph

What to do “while i’m in there” doing Lower Ball Joints?

I'd put money on your inner and outer rods needing replacing. If the tie rods drop after you unhook them from the ball joint - then no bueno. When I disconnected mine they dropped right away and you could move them all around with the lightest touch. This means they are bad. They should be...

    Preventive Maintenance for Overland Rig

I say to include an alternator - I now carry an OEM spare at all times - I had one break down on me while on a 1,000 mile + trip. Ended up getting one at autozone - only for that "new one" to break down on my less than 50 miles later. Went back to OEM - been fine ever since - but now I'm...

    5th gen rear shocks

They will work. I have a set of 5th gen rear springs plus 1.5” spacers plus the shocks. For the $30 I spent, rides amazing and handles weight very very well as it doesn’t sag much. Not sure why the other poster is so negative about them.

    ***SOLD **** FS: 1997 4Runner 5sp Manual 174K Omaha, NE $5.2k

Thank you gentlemen. I am very sad to let a manual go - unfortunately life duties take priority. My other 4Runner auto is so boring by comparison.
