    285 Dedicated Winter Tire?

I have dedicated winter tires (Nokian) in stock size in my 4Runner that I usually run in cold weather. I have recently done a 2/1 lift with KO2 in 285/70/17 and wanted a 33 in winter tire to go with lift. I know I can run the KO2 in winter as they are snowflake rated, however was wondering if...

6112/5160 - Do I need rear springs/spacers, or can I reuse factory rear springs?

I ran 6112/5160 with stock rear springs and preloaded the front so there was only 1" of rake (instead of 2" from factory setup). I liked the setup and didn't really off-road other than some short trails to get to camp sites every now and then. On-road the handling was improved and firm at...

Firestone CoilRite airbag install, part #4135

Nice write-up. I went through similar steps when I installed my Airlift bags. I know the directions on Airlift call for cutting 4 sections off of the bumpstop, but the picture is different in instructions then what our actual bumpstops so I only cut 3 sections off to match the thickness of...

Do not go to dealership for oil change!

I had similar issue with my 2016 4Runner. When i went to take off skids for 1st time (have used dealer up until that point for oil changes), a couple of the splash guard screws just snapped. It gave me an excuse to get RCI skid and their splash guard (other aftermarket companies also make splash...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Finally posting having installed last month. Love how it drives compared to my previous setup (6112/5160). Should have gone this route out the gate. - Dobinsons IMS Front Struts & Rear Shocks - Dobinsons C59-300/C59-599 Springs - SPC UCA Didn't take any pre/post measurements unfortunately...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Technically the alignment was in spec with stock UCAs so aftermarket was not "needed". However, with the caster maxed it was in the 2s (over 3 is recommended with the lift for best road manners) and I didn't like how it drove on the highway when comparing it to previous setup (stock UCAs...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Lasted 28K miles. Looks like the connection between the shock body and reservoir hose failed. I went in eyes open as there were well documented long term reliability concerns with 5160 when I purchased them.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

This is more of a what did I did the last 6 weeks up to and including today. Apologies on that. My Bilstein 5160s leaked and went bad back in April, and that started a complete change to suspension in mid-May. Thanks to Mike (aka Crikeymike) for taking the time and talking me through my...

    Sprint Booster

Looking forward to trying this out. Spoke to Jason on the phone to order which was easy. Now just waiting for it to arrive. Hoping it lives up to expectations.

PSA: Another aftermarket Remote starter/Alarm start thread. This one has videos

Installed remote start/security this weekend with Drone Mobile and EZ GO and loving it. First time doing something like this and it was very straightforward. Thanks gshadow325!

Price is listed in the post, 375. Yes, they are still available. Not sure about fitting 2004. I would assume but I’m not best to answer question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

I had them on stock trail wheels and no rubbing, but when I switched to TRD Pro rims I got rubbing at full lock. I also have Bilstein 6112/5160 set to level the front, so that may also be contributing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
