What ended up being the problem?? Transmission or Driveshaft? My dad's V8 4runner does the same thing. The dealer can't duplicate the problem. Occasionally downshifts hard and loud when coming off the interstate and slowing down then getting back on the gas.

mbush903 What did you find out? What was the actual problem. I have the same noise and it was after brake work was done. Sounds like I have air in the ABS modulator as mentioned in the post.

This is an old post, but maybe someone will still respond. Mine makes a popping noise (sounds like plastic breaking) when the automatic wind deflector goes up and down. Makes me not want to use it for fear it will break. Anyone with any ideas or solutions?

Just did the front wheel bearings on my 2003 2wd. They were both shot at 197,000 miles. I took the steering Knuckles off and took them to the dealer. The front bearings were a little cheaper at NAPA. $120 each (for the good ones). I bought the inner and outer seals, O-ring, adjusting nut and...
