Is this the PID is use for my 2000 trans temp?

I want to to add the trans temp PID to my Torque Pro app using my S23 Plus. Is this the process I use for my 3rd gen? I found this equation and process but its for a 4th gen so I'm not sure if its what I use...

    Are RockAuto "Denso coils" legit?

Thanks guys. I ordered three Denso coils and they should be here today. Without question I stick with Toyota and Denso parts and I have my reasons why. From the right source they are no more expensive than box store brands. My main concern was that the coils might be fakes but a lot of research...

    Are RockAuto "Denso coils" legit?

Are the described as Denso ignition coils, Part # 6731201 $54.79 ea, on RockAuto legitimate? I like nothing but Toyota parts on my 3rd Gen, and I get my parts from McGeorge Toyota which is even more beneficial to me now that I live in Virginia. McGeorge lists their coils, Part # 90919-02212...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

Thanks guys. I'll definitely use the sealant as recommended. It was punch to the guy when I took drum off, and was surprised with oil. This sounds like it should do the trick. This repair can become stressful and expensive constantly trying to get a repair to stick. I'll probably drive it a...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

The last time I pressed the inner ring in about 4.5mm and that put the seal in the center of the ring. From what I remember, the sweet spot seemed to be 4.5-5mm for people. I bought a Koyo bearing and ring set from napa which is what I used last time. I'll keep the bearing I pull out because...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

It's definitely gear oil. The wheel cylinder isn't leaking on the driver's side but the axle seal is. The axle seal on the passenger side isn't leaking but the wheel cylinder has oil behind the seal. You win some you lose some. I think what is happening is the oil is weeping past the outer dust...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

Yeah, I just figured my brakes didn't wear enough for the drop in level I see, but I don't think it's the wheel cylinder. When I got to work this morning I think I smelled gear oil. This is really inconvenient right now with my current living situation.

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

I guess tomorrow I'll try to look behind the boots and try to pop the speed sensor out. I can't remember if I could get the sensor out or not. I think it was stubborn if did come out. Pulling the axle isn't hard but if rather not if I don't have to. It's also weird that my brake fluid is...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

There looks to be brake shoe fibers mixed in with the fluid making a type of gunk. I was thinking friction and wear was creating what looks grease globs. What gets me is, if it is gear oil, wouldn't it be leaking out the bottom of the dust seal, down the backing part and onto the drum? Only the...

Leaking wheel cylinder or axle seal?

I'm thinking it's the wheel cylinder. They're probably the original and it now has 239k miles. Around 31k miles ago, back in 2019, I replaced the wheel bearing and axle seals. It was quite an ordeal after a local garage failed three times to fix it. I bought the press fixtures, a press and...

    Stiff gas pedal

I'd say just buy a new cable and be done with it. My cable was getting horrendous on my 2000 even though it had felt stiff the whole time I've had it since 2018. About 4 or 5 months ago I bought a new cable from McGeorge, and it should have been one of the first things I did 5 years ago. It...

What will I need for a fuel pump, sending unit, and Magnaglow catback job?

Yeah, I'm sure things may naturally come up as they work on it, but hopefully nothing breaks. I called McGeorge and the parts guy recommended a new clip for the fuel pump filter sock, and installing a fuel pump cushion. I decided to have them install a new suction tube assembly; it might be a...

What will I need for a fuel pump, sending unit, and Magnaglow catback job?

I'm going to be having some parts installed and I want to make sure I have everything I need. I'm going to have a local shop install a new fuel pump and sending unit. I get parts from McGeoerge so I need to make sure I'll have all of the necessary parts to get the job done. Here's where I'm...

Oreilly's TPS causing varying idle issues?

Yep, I get all of my parts from McGeorge. Now that I now live in Virginia they are even closer. At the time my 4runner was just about un-drivable since it wouldn't downshift. Definitely not fun while trying to merge into a highway. I didn't like it, but I went with Oreilly to get it "fixed"...

Oreilly's TPS causing varying idle issues?

Well I installed the Toyota TPS and my issues are fixed. It idles great and consistent with factory specs. This confirms why I always prefer to go with Toyota parts when I can. Thanks to all who chimed in on the thread!
