Suspension Replacement and a few other unexpected items - quote check

I'm thinking the number next to it corresponds to something else on the quote, and not the quantity. I thought maybe the hours, but I know the rear bags don't take that long to do. I'll try and get the spec on the bushing, but if everything else seems to be in line I'm ok with it. That's the...

Suspension Replacement and a few other unexpected items - quote check

I brought my '06 V8 Ltd (125k) in for a checkup and found a long list of items that need to be addressed. There's a shop in town that specializes in suspensions and Toyotas. Can anyone advise if the pricing for this work is reasonable? I wasn't anticipating these costs and asked for the parts to...

Towing with an Old 4th Gen?

I brought my ride in for a checkup and to see if the transmission fluid needed to be changed and just a general checkup prior to my next tow. It's a reputable shop but I still left with a list of items that needed attention. Lower control arms, wheel bearing, and sadly, the xreas is failing...

Towing with an Old 4th Gen?

Mine did not, but I was pulling temps as high as 250 using the Car Scanner app. That being said, I just pulled all the service records and I saw that the previous owner replaced the radiator with an aftermarket "performance" one, and I'm wondering if that didn't have some impact on the efficacy...

Towing with an Old 4th Gen?

Lots of great info in this thread. I figured I would bump it back up rather than to start a new one. I just finished my first major tow in a 2006 Ltd V8, 126K. I'm pulling a 19' Passport Ultra Lite that's 3840 lbs dry. Mileage was not great going up to the mountains, ~8-9 MPG, but I wasn't...

Transmission Cooler Recommendations- 2006 V8 towing a +3900 Lb Camper

I just got back from a trip and my transmission temps were way higher than I'd like, peaking at over 240 on the climb into Summit County on I-70. I also hit these temps on the non-highway part of the drive doing 30 MPH on 6 from Golden to I-70 (only sharing for context if anyone is on CO)...

    Reading transmission temp in 2023...

I too was looking for something to monitor the transmission temps on my '06 V8 4x4 Limited. This is really for towing my camper - CO has some fun climbs at high altitudes. I just bought the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE for less than $25 and connected it with a free app, creatively named "Car...

    Trailer Brake Controller

CURT 51180 Echo Mobile Bluetooth Brake Controller I just picked up the Bluetooth controller from CURT and its a pretty nice option. IF you are looking for a permanent onboard solution this won't help but I find it to be easy to use and I can swap it out between vehicles. Plug-and-play and no...

This is very helpful - I appreciate the detail.

    2008 TPMS bypass

I might be a little slow on this, but one option is to unpluf the harness from the box and just jump those 2 wires on the harness connector and NOT plug it back into the box? If that's the case, I'm guessing the box is just for the TPMS and nothing else?

    Falken Wildpeak A/T4W

My buddy just put these on his 2014 F-150 Lariat and loves them. Very quiet, at least compared to my Wilderness AT/2. The road noise is an issue for me on those as well as the rattling of the sunglass holder, cup holders, and flip out compartment.

What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

I’m looking at a ‘05 4x4 Limited Sport with 90k and the guy is asking $16,500. Any thoughts if this is reasonable? I’m on the fence but there is no rust and timing was already replaced. I had an ‘07 2wd with 110k that I paid $11k for but had to sell. Sure miss that thing...
