    Driveline vibration/hum help

I agree that is a nice set to have. But my question was about the U-Joints on the driveshaft. Are you guys replacing them from the dealership or is there a comparable quality option at a better price?

    Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks

Was eyeing the bilstein 6112 for the front and 5160 for the rear. Wasn’t too stoked about 5160 essentially being valved the same as a 5100 shock with a reservoir. Now Bilstein is showing the 8100 bypass series for the front and rear on the website designed for the 03’-20’ 4Runners. Will this...

    JBA off-road

google SPC 25460 vs. the JBA arms you can see the design is nearly the same minus the “plate” portion doesn’t extend onto the tubing part with the SPC nor does the SPC have the the little flange tabs. For the price I wish I had looked into JBA a little more but the general consensus seemed to be...

    JBA off-road

I just received my SPC UCA’s and I will say they look VERY similar to the JBA arms. The ball joint is OEM style and has 80 degrees of flex. I ordered them them Toytec lifts and they get them straight from SPC performance in Longmont,CO. Designed, engineered, tested, and assembled in COLORADO.

    Tundra Brake Upgrade

I’ve been teeter tottering back and forth weather to do the TBU upgrade or not. Most guys will say it’s a big upgrade but I find so many mixed opinions and a lot of people with bad or unexpected results. I’ve heard everything from soft pedal to the very end, decreased braking performance, one...

    2001 Body Mount Bolts

I would recommend to do the rears if you plan on putting a rear tube/plate bumper on and going off-roading and getting flexy. If your keeping it mostly stock and not pushing the truck off road just leave the OEM bushings on.

    2001 Body Mount Bolts

Agreed. I am still considering doing the rear mounts to poly for when I upgrade my rear bumper. Whole poly kit is 215 vs 85 for just rear bushings.. Keep us updated on ride quality. As for the bolt size I can’t quite tell you because I run extended bolts with the 1” body lift. But what I can...

    2001 Body Mount Bolts

What’s your reasoning for doing poly body mounts?? I considered doing them while I was installing the 1” body lift but decided against it because it makes your ride more stiff and more vibrations. I didn’t want that rough road feeling even though it’s not my DD but if it’s just a rock crawler or...

    Regear after 285's

I just got my 285/75/16 Yokohama MT’s installed and city driving hasn’t changed much over the 265/75/16’s but it is noticeable. Up in the mountain passes I was already hunting down into 3rd gear with a manual transmission with the 265’s , so I’m sure the 285’s will be even worse. Not sure...

How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

Paid 5k in Breckinridge, CO in 2019. 241k, 5 speed, diff lock, OME 3”, 265/75/16’s, no rust.

Your 3rd gen insurance rates rising?

I work in a body shop and work on tons of 5th gen 4runners, but I rarely see a 3rd gen. Maybe a small handful throughout the year. I've been in the industry 12 years and never worked on a 3rd gen until I bought one...
