I hope your happy with your choice though. I'm waiting for the next Generation 4 Runner. The ugly front fascia on the current 4 Runner / GX 460 can't go away fast enough for me. Reliability and durability just isn't enough.

I like the wheels. To say it's not a good looking rig because it has chrome wheels . I will never drink enough of the "Black only" Kool Aid . I'm not so sure about the tail gate writing though.

A much different vehicle. It too will get me back down the sand rutted, tree rooted two tracker. The cabin is in the upper lower of MI. That is about all the off roading I do. I do go biking and the 2 in. trailer mount comes in handy for the mountain bike.

I sold the 98 LE with 180 K on the clock for $4250. I am now driving a Porsche Cayenne. I don't think it will be with me very long. It drives way too nice at high speeds. That's trouble for me. I sold my C6 Corvette convertible because of the same reason. I should only drive slugs! The Runner...

I know everyone get a burr under their saddle whenever something is said about their beloved 4Runner. No one wants to hear that they have an ugly baby. I do think that there a flaws with it and there could be some cost effective improvements with the next Gen. There just isn't to much to choose...

I'm not sure all the TE /Pro fanboys read your post. If 98% of your driving is on the road and 2% off road. Then fire trails don't require the TE. Why spend your money for type of truck that you'll never use? Go with the Limited.

The question becomes what will you do if it does become a unibody 4 Runner. Are you leaving to find a BOF truck? I hear you talking about the up side of the BOF. Will you succumb because you are a fanboy of the 4Runner ? Or vote with your money in some other choice ? I would guess that it...

Nice write up and Mod. As for the off topic hood insulator. That is way over priced. There is two to five dollars worth of push button retainers there . On the high side ,a fifty dollar hood insulator. I know I'm living in the past.

That's a high price for 300K. I just put my 98 ltd. with 177K on Craigslist for $4500 . With many of the same repairs done. I have all kinds of emails to get caught up on.
