Resurrecting an old but still relevant thread…. My 2WD 2012 4R Limited, at 105,000 miles with stock wheels and new Bridgestone Allenza AS Ultra tires, still drives us crazy with the wandering in the wind or grooves on the road, needing constant corrections. It’s aligned with caster between 4 and...
My daughter's 2006 with the V6, ~170,000 miles, has thrown a P0171 code. She lives about 8 hours away. At this mileage, and since she will need to drive it for many more years, and since it's in really good shape, I think I'll throw oxygen sensors at it; trying to avoid taking it to a...
My daughter now in Denver, snow packed failure, her intermittent stopped working, and they won’t return to park from low or high when turned off. I’m just going to get the whole switch from eBay (NEW GENUINE OEM TOYOTA 4RUNNER FJ CRUISER WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH 84652-14642 | eBay) and swap when...
Thanks for replying. What has me thinking that it’s something other than the motor is that they work fine on low and high, just not on intermittent nor will they return to the park position when switched off.
And that wiring diagram is cool, but I’m not smart enough to figure it out...
Same issue but worse from my daughter in Denver. Here were stuck with packed snow too. Now she says they won’t work on “intermittent “ or whatever it’s called, and says that whenever she uses then turns them off they stop at that position without returning to park. Advice?
I’ve replaced XREAS to Bilstein 5100’s on all three of mine, and didn’t buy/replace anything else, just swapped the shocks on all 4 corners. Maybe check your lower ball joints, upper control arm ball joints, sway bar bushings and end links, and tie rod ends for play and replace if necessary, but...
I put Michelin LTX M/S2 P275/55R20 111H on mine 1/1/16, at 46,400. Have a little over 70,000 miles on it now, so about 25,000 miles. No issues, look much better. No off-roading so can’t help there, and haven’t checked but no mpg issues.
I didn’t replace any springs, kept all stock. On the 06 4WD, I did the max lift setting up front (something like a 2.25” lift), and added a 3/4” poly spacer for the rear and it looks perfect. On both the 06 and 12 2WD’s I used the second clip position for the ~0.85” lift up front, with stock for...
I just did my 2012 limited with Bilstein 5100’s replacing the XREAS. Set front to 0.85”, second clip position. Didn’t measure but it’s supposed to raise 0.85”. Looks much better bringing the front up, but is still lower than the rear, perfect.
And I’m also running them on my two 2006...
Yeah, I went back through the service manual printouts and see 48 and 91 ftlbs from two different pages for the torque on the axle backing plate nuts. I think I torqued to 48 and added blue loctite. I think I’ll go back and redo to 91 ftlbs to be on the safe side...
