Not detonation. It also sounds to clear in the cabin to be coming from the engine. Personally I am leaning towards transmission, sounds like it is right near you. Also you say engine hesitation, but I wonder if you are feeling something slipping in the transmission.

I have addicted front and rear. Excellent fit. Very beefy. Look awesome. Mine is the silver limited in their pics. I also live in PA, no inspection issues. Use a good couple coats of primer and spray on bed liner. No rust issues.

My runner is an auto, but from my previous taco experience I had the same issue. Only on days below 30, and only 1st to 2nd. I had enough of that after about a week and switched to amsoil MTG. Not sure what is spec for the 4r manual, but amsoil is the ticket. Never a hard shift or grind again...

That barely looks like a leak. Mine were considerably worse when I first bought my truck. Cleaned up the engine with degreaser, replaced my Pcv valve, and tightened my valve cover bolts. 4700 miles later and still perfectly clean.

Check throttle position sensor and idle control valve. Both cause erratic running and usually with no CEL.

I just had another buddy sell 2 spikes tactical stripped lower for $900 for the pair. If someone is willing to pay then I'm willing to sell. Manufacturers are back logged 4 months minimum right now, and that is just to fill orders that were already placed.
