Thats how many hitch type racks work. Kuat, Thule, Yakima are other brands you should check out. We love our Kuat; sturdily built, option for 2 bike add on for 4 total bikes, has tire tray provisions for your fatties. Never have dropped a bike yet!

FWIW I shift into Neutral when switching to and from 4Hi. Coasting under 45mph or at a standstill, works for our 4Ripper. Never had an issue yet...

Congrats on making a very important choice! The Toyota is just a vehicle, your kids should be your life even though they are super hard sometimes. Around here, Minnesota, that 4Runner would be listed around $20k, probably maybe. More importantly, staying home with our kiddos is the best...
