Climate Control - Your problems? fixes? experiences?

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but I don't think there is enough feedback out there, and there should be. The only thing that worked on my climate control was the temperature knob, which thankfully kept me able to at least adjust the temperature and live with it. I am now selling mine...

    5vz-fe Removal

I think I wasted a few hours trying to get all the transmission wiring harness connectors off. I finally said screw it and just pulled the intake off and took the whole wiring harness off the engine. Yeah I ordered some impact swivel sockets after taking it out, just to help putting it back...

    5vz-fe Removal

It took me about 1.5 days of work to get it out and about the same putting it back in. I could probably do it in a day if I had to do it again. Already had a hoist and got it out in an hour? really?

    5vz-fe Removal

Bought new plugs, wires and plenum gaskets today. I didn't replace them when I took the intake off and they were missing some of the black coating on the metal, so that can't be helping. Gonna put it all in tomorrow and with any luck it should take care of it. Will check TPS if this doesn't...

    5vz-fe Removal

Oops, for some reason I didn't see it to show me notifications when people replied to this thread, so I hadn't checked it until now. I have read several threads where flexplates have went out in the 150-200K mile range. One guy thought his was caused by the starter so he replaced the starter...

    5vz-fe Removal

Update for everyone--I ended up just pulling the intake and harness off of the engine and leaving the transmission harness alone (well, besides a few connectors I pulled before I realized it'd be easier to just pull the intake off). So.. the verdict is... And here are some pictures Overall...

    5vz-fe Removal

(can't figure out how to edit on phone) To clarify--same harness goes up front of the engine too, looks to be some sort of crank sensors. If it weren't for that I could just ignore it.

    5vz-fe Removal

Suggestions on best way to deal with the wiring harness going down the drivers side between engine and fender? It goes back to transmission. I can get the connectors off at the transmission but can't figure out how to get these wire tie things off. Seems like they're metal and no way to Open...

    5vz-fe Removal

Had to register to say thank you for this thread to the author. I started pulling mine yesterday and got nowhere fast. After reading this a few times I believe I can knock it out tomorrow and get this thing yanked out!
