    2007 Roof Drip Moulding Issue

When I had mine fixed on my '08 4runner the glass company said they had to pop off the plastic covers on the front of the roof rack unbolt the rack slide the trim underneath and then torque down. Been 1 year in weather extremes of +35C to -40C. No problems.

    avalon remote start on 4Runner

Compustar. It locks and unlocks regardless of engine running or not. I am not sure what avital is but seriously there is a reason Compustar was Mercedes OEM remote start in North America. I've had my fob since 2008 no problems.

The Great Power Steering Fluid Debate

Sorry about that I edited my previous post. My other vehicle BMW uses hydraulic fluid in PS which had me confused. On my 2001 Corolla it had a TSB change in northern Canada from Toyota P/S Fluid (Clear fluid) to ATF Dex-3 (of course red). The transmission fluid handled extreme cold better...

The Great Power Steering Fluid Debate

ATF. In some older Toyota's that ran Toyota Power Steering fluid there was a running change to allow the use of ATF Dex-3 in cold climates. For the 4th Gen 4Runner a good quality ATF is all you need!

    X-REAS Advantages?

Guess I will not wait until I have badly leaking shocks to replace. I'm coming on 135,000km and will have it serviced before it is too late! Thanks once again for the good info guys!

    X-REAS Advantages?

In Canada our dealerships are supplied with this information about replacing the shocks in pairs but that you but no requirement to replace the central dampener or metal tubing. Only speaks of having the rear axle supported when on the lift to ensure wheels are at "normal rebound" to ensure...

When replacing leaking struts do you need to change center control dampeners and all the plumbing?

Michelin LTX M&S2 no good in snow

I run Blizzak DM-V1 in winter. Northern Alberta is no place to be stuck in a ditch in -30C for 4 hours awaiting help mind you. If you consider your non-winter tires will get twice the life as they see the half the mileage it costs no more to have better performance. Having now pulled 4 people...

Oil change interval after switch to synthetic?

First off I use Mobil 1/Toyota Filter and change at 8000km/5000mi interval. Sometimes more often. I believe that oil change intervals have more to do the climate you live in, the seasons and the rate you accrue mileage. I live in a warm summer/cold winter climate. :canada: I may only put...

    o2 Sensor Upstream

Make sure you check out the readings coming from your MAF sensor. The code for upstream O2 sensors can lead to spending lots of money unnecessarily. If you download the service manual you will see a trouble shooting guide for the different engine codes. The apparent code is sometimes a...

Want to add remote start. Best option?

Compustar here since 2008 on 08 4runner and 01 Corolla since 2004. Remote starts can be a PITA but if you are set on getting one find a good Compustar dealer and get her done!
