    1st gen 4runner

Yeah those flasher relays are a pain to get out. I had to get a couple of small flathead screwdrivers and a couple of tiny trim removing tools to finally get mine out. There are actually 4 clips holding it together. Two hold the relay to the fuse panel and two that holds the relay body together...

I'd like to do a wheeling trip before the winter settles in, but it looks like that's not going to happen due to financial issues and the 4Runner needing another thing replaced or fixed. I'm eventually going to run out of things to replace on this rig. :hurt:

    Favorite 4runner Generation, why?

1st gen hands down. 2nd gen is alright and I consider the 3rd gen to be the last of the good 4Runners cause of the smaller body and 5 speed manual option.

Most of the work done to mine has been done at Platte Woods Precision Auto care in Platte Woods.

    SPOTTED Thread

I keep seeing this guy every so often at English landing park in Parkville. I believe his name is Matt, cause I saw a craigslist ad he posted a while back, selling a 22re engine & this 4runner was in the background of one of the pictures in that ad. Has a turbo diesel under the hood from my...

I've been meaning to chime in on this and try to get a meet together soon. I've been neglecting my 4Runner lately due to financial issues and some other things. I'll see if I can get a meet together soon and we can do some wheeling. Kansas Rocks ORV park is the closest that I know of where we...

What's The Name Of Your 4Runner?

Project Werewolf Mostly started with my parents calling it "the beast", but I found that corny cause my friends would call their rigs the same thing. I like wolves so for a little while I called it "silver wolf" but then I one day I thought since this truck has been a never ending project, my...

    Recommendations for rear plate bumpers

Glad I came back to check this thread out. I did find it odd that their rear bumper looked similar to Kennesaw's version. Now I know. I'll just go ahead and delete that link from my favorites. Time to brush up on my welding skills and I think I'll take my chances on making my own or have an...

    Electric Fan

The P.O. of my Runner installed a useless 8'' E-fan from the parts store. Soon after I got it I put in Flex-a-lite's 2800 cfm straight blade E-fan for a while. It did great in slower situations, like stop and go traffic and off road. However, when it was 90+ degrees outside, 85% or higher...

    removing top for first time

Never has leaked. I've taken mine off 4-5 times since I've owned it. Course, I apply petroleum jelly to the weatherstripping before I put it back on. Helps give it a better seal. Probably not going to switch to the soft top this year, but maybe next year. It's hard for me cause I don't have a...

    Project Werewolf - 1987 4Runner dlx

Update I've decided to put the sway bar back on after taking it off a long time ago. So....I've been driving it without it for a long while, which gets interesting around turns. Now I got quick disconnects for it from 4crawler.com. I'm not too sure how well they'll work, but I'll give them a...

Ok - I've searched - but how do I replace the brakelight bulbs?

If you're talking about the 2nd gen., fold down tailgate. There are two screws nearest the tail lights, unscrew them and the tail light assembly will pop out. It should be self explanatory on how to get the old ones out and put new ones in. If you don't know how, have someone in an auto parts...

Not really for the time being. Hopefully we can get something going when the weather gets warmer. We have a facebook group so we can be a little more connected with what's going on. https://www.facebook.com/groups/450129221864191/
