Used 2009 Trail Edition $31,000 with 17,000 miles on it. Yeah, close to retail, but the 2009 TE was what I wanted so I was willing to pay more. My trade-in? A 2011 Limited T4R.

Actually, now down to two available on each site..both are in the midwest as I picked up one of the ones on Cars.com and the other one on Cars.com was sold a while ago (the dealership just hasn't removed their ad yet).

Believe me, I've thought about jumping ship many times as it takes Nikon twice as long to come out with a decent SLR as it does Canon. Alas, I have too much invested in Nikon glass to make the jump. Now if money was no object, I would have done it a couple years ago.

Finding "quality" used 4th gens are the toughest part. I'm lucky to have found this TE in my area. Last week, there were only 4 TE advertised on Cars.com and two on AutoTrader.com.

The 4th gen TE is an SR5 with 16" wheels, Bilsteins, water-resistant seats, and rear locker (still maintains center locker with multi-mode 4WD). Has the roof rails and tubular side steps of an SE. No XREAS, no hood scoop, no telescoping steering wheel, no heated outside mirrors, and no power...

What about picking up a 09 TE? Center and rear lockers with multimode 4WD?

I've been real happy with my GY SA. Had them on my SE and LTD. Handles great in the rain, fairly quite on the highway. Never had an opportunity to try them in the snow. Will probably get a set for my 09 TE when the original tires wear out.

24 hours and so far, so good. It's like seeing an old friend once again...

I changed out the stock LTD 20's and used the SR5 17's and still the ride was not like my 4th gen.

Initially, their website called this color black, but since then they have changed it to dark grey, which is the darkest color they have. I had black leather interior in my 5th gen Blizzard Pearl LTD and didn't look bad at all.
