    Loss of power, no CEL

I had this problem before too, and in my case it was a low trans fluid issue. Started out as feeling like the driveshaft clunk everyone describes but eventually (a few months) manifested itself as a complete loss of power despite increasing revs of the engine (probably due to being in 2 gears...

    What should I do?

If financials are your concern then getting something newer isn't the solution. Think of how many $500 repairs you can get in a year for what you would pay on a newer vehicle - if its anything like what your driving now your in for at least $500 a month for purchase over 5 years... Warranty...

    Chevrolet Colorado Confirmed For US

the 4500 limit is cause those are diesels - there are no manufacturers who have any significantly higher redline for diesel engines - its the nature of the diesel combustion that limits this. Its all about torque with diesel (check out the torque #'s) so thats why a good transmission is needed...

    Chevrolet Colorado Confirmed For US

Well that link confirmed it for me - they mention the cheap feeling plastic again...not expected to bring a diesel to N.A. GM will not learn...at least not in my lifetime. No wonder the government bailed them out - they work just like government. They spent $2B on a new body on frame design...

    NEW TIRE: Michelin LTX M/S-2

I just started to load all my info for gas usage into this web page. 4Runner (Toyota 4Runner) | Fuelly I think that all the mileage info on there is on the cross terrains - I haven't updated since I got the LTX M/S2, lots of city but some highway and towing in the summer months too. I don't...

    NEW TIRE: Michelin LTX M/S-2

I put a set of stock size (265/65R17) M/S2 on my 04 limited V8 last month. Its been all city driving so far but I can say that compared to the worn out Michelin Cross Terrains: 1. better wet traction 2. just as quiet (maybe slightly audible with windows down - thats pretty quiet to me -...

Advice needed - Tires, Undercoating, stability system

I'm in eastern Canada and I can't really comment on the tires - I've had my T4R 1 year and I got through the winter on the worn out Michelin Cross terains that were OEM on it. I now have a new set of Michelin LTX M/S2 and expect no problems whatsoever.. For undercoating - yes definitely if you...

T4R Bottoms Out Over Mexican Speed Bumps!

Well I'm gonna say the front shocks are toast based on the description of bouncing the front and it doesn't stop right away. You don't need springs though - just the shocks (aka dampers) and probably just on the front. Shocks can and do wear out fast- especially if run into speed bumps at...

    ticking in the morning

I put my money on cracked manifold You are describing exactly the symptoms of a craked exhaust manifold. I'm trying to consolidate the information on how many are seeing this problem but its a bit difficult. See these other threads and vote on the poll I posted! Thanks Mike...

Weird noise coming either from suspension or exhaust, help!!

Check your spare tire. Is it tight up against the truck? If it lost some air it could be dangling a bit? Mike

    V8 Exhaust Manifold "Tick"

Its a bit early on to be commenting on the statistics but roughly 1 in 3 V8 owners are reporting an exhaust manifold tick at start up (ie cold). (as of now 8 report it on the right side, 1 on both sides and 16 don't have it) WOW!:jaw drop: It doesn't seem as rare or isolated as I previously...

    Something stupid you did

Wearing safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, using push sticks and then cut off my finger cause the table saw didn't have a blade guard and was still spinning down after I turned it off - big lesson learned that day! ie blade guards are for when your not paying attention! The up shot...
